Economy sends Trainees as Vocational Advisors into Class Rooms

With the project „Ausbildungs-Scouts” (trainee scouts) of the Bavarian Chamber of Industry and Commerce, about 3,000 Bavarian trainees are showing the variety apprenticeship programs and pointing out the great career chances. Therefore, apprentices are getting trained as “Ausbildungs-Scouts” (trainee scouts) and then will be sent in teams of two into the Bavarian classrooms. With start of this projects at February 5 2015 “AusbildungsScouts” as well as their trainers of the Bavarian Chamber of Industry and Commerce have been invited to the “Flugwerft Schleißheim”, a part of the German Museum.

Already 60 trainees in the district of the IHK Regensburg are operating as “Ausbildungs-Scouts”. LÜDECKE is also supporting this project with Jonas Ziener as “AusbildungsScout” and their trainer Sebastian Lotter: They show the career chances after an apprenticeship at LÜDECKE. The presumed better reputation of a university degree had led that a lot of young people wouldn’t even consider an apprenticeship. The consequence: Statistics of the job agency indicate, that within the district of the chamber about 1,500 apprenticeship positions still remain vacant when the first year of training started in 2015, while only 30 applicants were left without a training place. With the project “Ausbildungs-Scouts”, the chamber wants to educational work among the pupils. Tatjana Schmeißl, the consultant of the Chamber explains: “The Ausbildungs-Scouts give advice on job orientation and show, based on their own professional and personal growth, which career perspectives might open up, when choosing a dual training”.
